CBC Remembers The "Belmar Boys"

Calvary Baptist Church Remembers the “Belmar Boys”  - Veterans Day, 2025

Four young men from Belmar:

Robert E. Sherman (a member of CBC)

Joseph R. McConnell

Alfred J. Ferruggiaro

Francis E. Class, Jr.

were among the 687 servicemen killed when the USS Juneau was sunk by Japanese torpedoes on November 13, 1942, during the Battle of Guadalcanal. There were only 10 survivors.

May God Bless our Belmar Boys and all those on the USS Juneau who gave their lives in the service of our country.
