After graduating from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000 with a degree in Pastoral Studies, Pastor Nancy Goss's home church, Calvary Baptist Church in Belmar, NJ, asked her to serve as Associate Pastor. Pastor Nancy (as she is affectionately called) relates,
"I felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to introduce a Discipleship program to CBC, and with the blessing of my pastor, I was appointed Minister of Discipleship. I found some wonderful materials and a small group of willing participants, and the group met weekly for many years"
In 2005, Pastor Nancy was ordinated by the North Shore Association of the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey. She continues to serve at CBC as Associate Pastor, preaching once a month, counseling individuals, and officiating at weddings, baptisms, and funerals. She also assists her Senior Pastor in ministry when needed.
Pastor Nancy affirms that Christ gave her the following nverse many years ago and it remains her "life verse to this day:
"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." -- Philippians 3:12.
